Thank you LWVSFC Volunteers and all Election Workers

for a Successful, Safe and Secure 2026 Primary Election!

The June 2 election was New Mexico’s first Semi-Open Primary, a change created by 2025 legislation to expand voter participation by allowing every registered voter to participate in a primary election. LWVSFC VP Admin Debbie Helper represented us in the statewide YourVote NM Coalition, formed to advocate for the change and now tasked with helping voters understand it. (Other coalition members include Common Cause New Mexico, NM Voters First, ACLU New Mexico, Somos Un Pueblo Unido and national experts like Democracy Rising.)

Statewide voter turnout was 24.41%; Santa Fe County voter turnout was 32.09%
