LET THE SUN SHINE IN!
LWVSFC joined the New Mexico Foundation for Open Government to host a panel discussion March 17 at St. John’s UMC in celebration of Sunshine Week, held annually in mid-March to celebrate and support the so-called “Sunshine Laws” that assure local, state and national governments operate in the open.
The panel discussion of New Mexico’s Inspection of Public Records Act, moderated by Santa Fe New Mexican opinion editor Inez Russell Gomez was enlightening.
Panelists were Christine Barber, NM FOG’s new executive director; Phaedra Haywood, a longtime courts reporter for the New Mexican; and Amanda Lavin, legal adviser to NM FOG.
