Greg Shaffer likens the position of County Manager to that of a chief administrative officer of any organization – but for a local government that encompasses nearly 2,000 square miles. He’s responsible for personnel management, fiscal management and executing policy decisions ordered by the County Commission.

Mr. Shaffer, who had previously served as Assistant County Attorney,among other positions inside and outside County government, was chosen to replace long-time City Manager, Katherine Miller, who retired in April, 2022.
